🌿 Two Beautiful Houseplants That Instantly Elevate Any Room

If you’re looking for houseplants that truly make a statement, look no further. The two beauties featured here are:

1. Fiddle Leaf Fig

2. Audrey Ficus

These lush, large-scale plants bring life, texture, and sophistication to any space. With their bold leaves and dramatic height, they’re perfect for filling empty corners or acting as a natural focal point in a room. You’ll find them in a variety of shapes—from slender single stalks to full, tree-like forms. Whether your style is modern, boho, or classic, one of these will fit right in.

Finding the right one may take a bit of plant-hunting, but trust me—it’s worth it. I’ve had a few different Ficus trees over the years (check out one of my favorites here!), and they’ve all made a lasting impact. Audrey Ficus, in particular, is rising in popularity and is just as stunning as the fiddle but with a softer, velvety leaf.

You can expect to spend as little as $35 for a smaller plant or well into the hundreds for larger, more established trees.

🛒 Where to Shop

  1. Home Depot & Lowe’s – Great for budget-friendly finds. Check both indoor and outdoor sections, especially in spring when stock is fresh.

  2. Local Nursery – A bit pricier, but worth it for high-quality plants with a wider selection and sizes year-round.

  3. Costco – Keep an eye out in the spring! They often stock affordable Fiddle Leaf Figs and may start carrying Audrey Ficus as their popularity grows.

I scored my Fiddle Leaf Fig at Costco for $40 and my Audrey Ficus at a nursery for $165—worth every penny!

🌱 How to Make Your Plant Look Bigger Instantly

No need to break the bank on a mature plant! Try this easy styling trick:

  • Place the grow pot inside a tall basket or decorative planter.

  • Use a small box inside the basket to elevate the plant.

  • Line it with a plastic tray to catch excess water.

This illusion of height gives your plant a more polished, mature look. Bonus: You save money by buying a smaller plant!

🧡 How to Care for Fiddle Leaf & Audrey Ficus

Light:
They thrive in bright, indirect sunlight—morning light is ideal.

Water:
Water once a week with a large mason jar, only when the soil feels dry. If it’s still damp, reduce the amount slightly.

Pro Tips:

  • Rotate your plant a quarter turn weekly for even growth.

  • Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust.

  • Check for pests—watch for tiny bugs or fuzzy white spots and treat immediately.

  • Make small adjustments. Overwatering or poor drainage are common mistakes—repot with dry soil if needed and ensure proper drainage.

Keep away from:
Strong air conditioning drafts or heat vents, which can stress and kill your plant.

🌿 If Your Plant Dies—It’s OK!

Don’t stress. It happens! Learn from the experience, try again, and maybe pick a different species or location. Plants are an investment in your space and well-being. If it brought joy for a few months, it’s already done its job.

Give yourself grace, get a new plant, and keep growing 🌱
